Creating 2D Animation in Harmony
I created this course to be very tightly focused on the skills required to animate a classic hand drawn animation in Harmony. For those who are more interested in the traditional style, and who have some drawing skills, this short course is exactly what you need. You can access the course on LYNDA or on LINKEDIN LEARNING.
Harmony is a pretty huge program, with a lot of features. This course doesn’t waste your time with any of the super technical stuff like puppet creation – the course is entirely aimed at those who just want to draw! It demonstrates a very simple action: a hand moves from a relaxed pose into an up position / breakdown, before settling into an open palm gesture.
I demonstrate only the parts of the program that are needed to create drawings, set exposures, and create the inbetweens (by hand).
And as usual, I show how to be mindful of arcs, and how to plot them – which also allows you to have total control over the spacing of the inbetweens.
And of course, I show you how to color the character using the color art layer.
